PELIKAN is our debut lighting object, emerging from our earliest experiments with our self-built large-format 3D printer designed for biomaterials.

A sculptural table lamp, formed from a single continuous line that holds a glowing sphere in place, filling the space with dimmable ambient light.

The natural pigmentation of our lamps comes from the seashells themselves. Seashells are collected from restaurants, crushed, and mixed with a biopolymer for 3D printing. Each material creates a distinct color variation and light quality.

Scallop is the lightest tone, creating a soft, clean light with an off-white hue and the gentlest warm light.

Light concept

The lamp emits a diffused light that fills the room with warmth. Its translucent shade softly filters the light, casting a balanced, glare-free radiance that creates a calming ambiance.

Light source

The light from the LED bulb feels as strong as the light from a traditional 60W incandescent bulb but it consumes 85% less energy and lasts up to 20 times longer.

Body

The lamp’s body is 3D-printed with a blend of biopolymer and reclaimed mussel, oyster, or scallop shells making it biodegradable in industrial composting. We don't use chemical additives that inhibit compostability.

Electrical components

The lamp holder, cable, switch, and plug are manufactured using other materials to meet the highest safety standards. The electrical components can be recycled according to local e-waste regulations.
