The influence of light on our lives is often underestimated. Light shapes our perception of moments and influences our emotions. Light makes a room dark or light, warm or cold. Light goes beyond physical boundaries. Light is inside and outside and everywhere in between. Light makes everything possible, and sometimes, impossible.
Throughout time, the presence and absence of light have moulded how people live around the world. During long summer days, we invite sunlight into our homes. Bringing the outside, inside. During short winter days, we emanate light from the inside of our homes to the outside by replacing natural light with artificial light.
This relationship between natural and artificial light creates a symphony that orchestrates our lives. We want to design lighting that connects to this relationship. Bringing influences from Denmark and Brazil, rooted in the tradition of craftsmanship, we are exploring how legacy lighting design can transcend time and culture through digital fabrication.
